$PTON Buyout?
The rumor mill is churning that Peloton is going to be bought out by maybe Amazon?
If so I think that's an incredible decision because one of Peloton's biggest issues is supply chain-based - aka getting the bike built and shipped, which Amazon is better at than anyone IMO.
On top of this the connections that Amazon has are endless...
As much as I can use anything positive around $PTON, getting big ‘buy the rumor sell the fact’ vibes from these rumblings. News conveniently dropped after-hours on a Friday. Expecting this weekend bid to come off significantly if no immediate follow through Monday AM, as I’m sure plenty of bag holders will use this as an opp to trim or exit their positions.
Even well prior to Peloton’s woes have there been buyout rumors thrown out there (rather baselessly) speculating acquisitions from companies like Amazon, Apple, Nike simply because people “could see it.”…I can’t see Foley wanting to sell at a price similar to what they went public at given valuations he has gotten a taste of when business was grooving, but then again he has been diluted to <10% ownership now so he only has so much power left…I still think tough times ahead personally for the company but am holding through, Peloton’s story far from over.
