Portfolio update - September 2023
With the month of August coming to an end, it's time for our monthly review. During the month, I was very opportunistic and made a lot of purchases from the proceeds of my previous sales.

I've continued to build up my positions in $LVMH $DUOL as they pulled back despite posting excellent results.

I've continued to add to my Core positions $ASML $MA $MSFT and $AMZN following my plan.

I couldn't resist taking advantage of the nonsense that occurred with $HIMS posting stellar results and then despite being up something like 17% pre-market slumping after results by 27% caused by in my opinion - a baseless short report. I've more than doubled my position during the month.

During the month, I've also decided to start a separate "Tesla dream fund" solely with the purpose of saving up for my dream Tesla Model 3. Although this is speculative, I believe I can make this work, it's a bit of a challenge for myself. Today, I've made a first purchase of $TSLA in that fund.

Main portfolio allocation looks like this:

$TSLA This is HUGE if true. This is a 25000€ Model 3. Would you believe that? Crazy. Model 3 currently goes for 29500€ in China, so this is a significant drop. They must’ve done wonders with architecture and materials for such savings. Love it! Especially as a future Model 3 buyer!

Also, pushing Model 3 further down the price should boost the rampup and optimize costs faster than currently with smaller volumes since Model Y is almost cannibalizing sales of Model 3 with such a close pricing.

$AMZN $SHOP This is awesome news for both of these 2 largest players in the US e-commerce space. Amazon gets larger utilization of its fulfillment network, Shopify merchants get faster shipping and Shopify gains through Shopify Payments. Win Win Win.

Sounds like a win-win for both indeed. $AMZN is not adverse to collaboration - I remember that they referred their merchants to $SQ, after trying to compete with them with their own version of credit card readers.

Remember when $MSFT was disrupting $GOOGL at the start of the year? Yeah me neither.

Search market share basically unchanged
Its reply to ChatGPT - Bard rolled out
Its reply to Microsoft Copilots - Duet AI rolled out, priced the same

Long and strong both $MSFT & $GOOGL.

$GOOGL is now rolling out Duet AI assistant which helps you write better emails, create presentations, translate languages, do research and more inside Google Workspace apps.

The price is $30/month.

The more I'm thinking about the advancements in AI, autonomy and renewable energy, the more I believe this wave of innovation will benefit capital heavy businesses the most, given just how much cheaper these solutions are compared to the costs the current gen does now. Thoughts?

$GOOGL partners with $NVDA to advance AI computing, software and services. The partnership aims to:

  • Optimize GCP for gen AI workloads
  • Integrate Nvidia AI Enterprise with Google Cloud Vertex AI to improve data science workflows
  • Develop new AI infra solutions together

Solar, Wind and Battery grid - to become cheaper by 70+% in next 10 years than current one
EVs - fleets lasting 3-7x longer than ICE fleets, with EV operational costs for individuals already 1/2 - 3/4 cheaper than ICE
AVs operated by fleets - 4x cheaper to operate than a paid off car, not even including driver costs

And all of these improvements are colliding at the same time to create disinflationary hyperinnovation cycle over the coming years. Exciting years ahead!

Make yourself a favor and watch Tony, he's been awfully right so far.
