Japanese stocks have followed US Treasury Yields quite loosely over the last 12 years or so.

Also, the fund has outperformed every major US Benchmark YTD.

The fund focuses on dividend-paying companies that rely heavily on exports. Often times in downturns dividend-paying companies can be the best to rely on to cushion a portfolio. Another big way $DXJ wins is with the currency hedge.

Currently, $DXJ is easily beating the other major Japan ETF $EWJ on the YTD using this strategy.

I plan to continue to add to $DXJ moving forward, especially as the US market continues to deteriorate. Been a very nice safe place to be for the long fall down.

I also even started a position in the Small-Cap version of $DXJ. I don't plan to make it a major part of my portfolio but as Japanese equities continue to rise I expect outperformance from small caps in particular.
