Part of the reason I rarely sell is that selling is often forgetting. 

I want to look at the dumb buys I made every time I open my portfolio so I don’t do it again.

I think the benefit of this approach is it keeps you vigilant about biases you had in the past and prevents similar ones in the future. This is why I still hold $ETSY. I don't mind the opportunity cost of holding because it's a relatively small position for me. However, I am unlikely to adopt the same approach for a holding with a larger allocation.
