My first 1-bagger is here! Considering that the company joined me this year I am so happy about this tiny milestone :)
Do you remember your first 100% gain? And how did the company do afterwards?
Also, looks like IonQ has been doing amazing for you— I think @miquel_nieto is with you on that one.
Theoretically promising, but even experts in Quantum Computing will tell you they don't understand how the physics work fundamentally.
Quantium computing is likely still a decade off if it's even possible/useful at all.
I've been thinking about the opportunity windows of things like Quantum Computing and the Metaverse lately, and I think both are probably still too early to invest.
Wrote a very brief memo here:
@radzimirson @nathanworden Unfortunately I didn’t enter because “my rules” say I should wait a few quarters to see the execution as a public company. We’re talking about a 15M revenue company (2021 projection), working on a tech that is most likely 10 years away…I expect many ups and downs, and I’ll be waiting for Rigetti to go public, which will be useful for comparisons.
However, my heart hurts and “my rules” are getting me annoyed!! 😂
I don’t agree with @tim_esteben , science is very well established, and there’s no doubt quantum computing will play a role in the future. But it is true this future is not right at the corner, so unless you put life-changing money at IPO price, I don’t see the difference in terms of R/R in waiting a little and entering later, say at $25.
@tim_esteben I wouldn't say it's a decade. Technology likes to surprise and grow exponentially. Anyway, as @miquel_nieto said, I believe quantum computing will surprise many.
Although it's still a long way to go, my position is relatively small. I can lose even 100%, but the profit potential is incomparably high. Just such a venture play :)
Super exciting, @radzimirson! I think there will be many more in store for you. :) By the way, what you have with a stock up 100% is actually a 2-bagger or a "double." (A 10-bagger is a stock that's gone up 900%.) I can't remember what my first double was, but I remember my first 10-bagger: $SHOP!
Congrat, @radzimirson !! I guess you now have your second bagger!! ;)
