Polkadot $DOT, a next generation blockchain of blockchains was created by Gavin Wood, one of the co-founders of Ethereum, and it had an ICO back in 2017 and now just launched their mainnet back on July 21st of this year.

As a next generation blockchain it solves the trilemma problem that faces earlier crypto projects. How do you get 3 instead of just 2 of 3 when it comes to:

1) Decentralization

2) Security

3) Scalability

And Polkadot achieves this with it’s protocol technology and para-chains. In addition to a blockchain of blockchains (easy to create new projects off Polkadot) It also serves as an interoperable blockchain, thus connecting to other non-polkadot chains (similar to Cosmos in that way). Their first interoperable bridge will be built to connect with Ethereum, they will eventually also connect to Bitcoin, but they chose Ethereum first due to it’s more expressive nature and smart contracts, as well as Gavin being a former co-founder.

$NIO has a bright future, first starting out in China, gaining local fans in a massive sized market. They are prepping for a robo taxi future with their Battery swap as a service feature. The market in China has huge room for massive growth, and they will eventually target international markets. They are in some circles considered the poor man’s Tesla when it comes to stock price. China is pushing EV and renewables with extreme direction, their goal is to dominate the clean energy space, and are doing so with authoritarian force.

NIO seems to follow Tesla like a premium altcoin follows Bitcoin. This is eventually a $100+ stock in the future, and they have momentum behind them. EVs are the future and China is posed to be one of the leaders in that space with their concentrated and single-focused drive to shift green in all areas.
