I invest in my future, that takes many shapes: I invest my time and money in stocks, crypto, property, knowledge, exercise, eating right, and doing things I love.

'Buy the Dip' competition? Freeze dry your dip so you can eat it with chips during the Apocalypse.
Bear Market? Kill the bear and freeze dry the meat.

The top prize is $5000, so I asked myself would 'how would I invest $5000 (or so) right this minute to secure my future'?

My answer: Buy a home freeze dry machine and start prepping.

Maslow's hierarchy of needs puts Food, Water, Shelter as the basic needs for every human. You are a human, right?
What good is your COST, KO, PG, PFE, MSFT, TSLA, BTC, ETH or USD when shelf stable freeze-dried meat, veggies and fruits become invaluable? USD can be burned to keep you warm I guess...

Look at Kyiv. What happens when Putin goes off the rails and nukes every major American city? If you think "I'll just go to the grocery store and stock up"... did you see what happened to things at the beginning of the Covid Pandemic? Try that but Every. Single. Product.
Am I spreading fear?
No, I'm being practical, and I hope/pray I never get to say 'I told you that you'd be happy you stocked the shelves'.

Your house/car are at least tangible investments (that are also shelters). So is food on the shelf. Those are investments that don't disappear into thin air because Elon decided to manipulate the market for the 12th time this year. Food, Shelter, Water. Those are conservative investments that never go bad (provided you use some of the oldest stuff before it becomes un-useable). If you are using "old freeze dried food", times are good. Be thankful.

Harvest Right is the go-to company in America. It's not publicly traded, but you can find the owner on LinkedIn and tell him he should start going through his IPO checklist. I'm not affiliated with them at all, I just think this is the most wise investment this year.

If you think of yourself as an "investor" and you haven't invested into your own food, water, or shelter security, you are creating hard-lines between life-investing, and monetary-investing. And IMHO, your priorities are skewed. Own property. Have a few months (at least) of long-term-storage food on the shelves. Have a huge supply of fresh water available.

You can buy pre-freeze-dried food packs marketed to the "prepper" crowd, but I've tried many of them, and they mostly suck. You're better off freeze drying food you already like to eat.

Just for the record, I invest in markets as well as my food and water security. This is just my silly but not so silly entrance into the competition.
