I'm a financial educator, author, and YouTuber. I started investing in 2004. In the beginning, I had no idea what I was doing. Over time, I've gradually learned how to invest better. Now I spend my time teaching other investors how to do the same.

AMA: I'm an author, writer at The Motley Fool, and YouTuber (Thursday 2/10 @ 11 AM EST)
Hi everyone,

I am excited to participate in Commonstock's recurring 'ask me anything' segment! On Thursday, February 10th, at 11 AM Eastern Time, I will be hopping on to answer your questions live for ~1hour.

But please feel free to enter questions ahead of time in the comments section, and I will answer them live.

My background:
I'm best known on Twitter. I started taking FinTwit seriously in 2019 and have grown my audience to ~260,000+ followers.

In 2020, I started an email newsletter and have grown it to over 21,000 emails. I also started writing a book called Why does the stock market go up?. The mission of the book is to demystify the stock market. It launches on April 5th, 2022, and I couldn't be more excited.

In 2021, I launched a YouTube channel and have grown it to 42,000+ subscribers.

Before all of that, I worked for a startup medical device company for 10 years in marketing & sales. I joined the company pre-revenue and it's now worth $16 billion ($PODD).

However, my passion has always been about money, investing, and financial freedom.

That passion landed me a job as a contractor with the Motley Fool in 2015. I've been writing/podcasting/live streaming for them ever since.

My investing style: I buy a smattering of low-risk, high-growth businesses and hold them for years. I rarely buy or sell. I take any company that I come across through my investing checklist. I try and buy high-quality companies at attractive valuations and hold them until they are no longer great.

Feel free to leave me any question you'd like I'll answer it to the best of my ability.

Thanks for your time!

Investing Checklist

Hey Brian, order a couple copies of your book, looking forward to that.

My question for you: You must interact with a lot of people on a monthly basis, both in the real world (I assume) and online (with a large following). How do you keep a sense of "still" amongst all of that vibration/stimulation and insulate yourself from noise in the market? Thanks!
