Consumers Trying to Save
during times where cost of living gets more expensive, people will substitute what they used to buy, with cheaper alternatives.
you can see this pattern when looking at the 1mo chart for $DG & $DLTR compared to supercenters like $WMT & $TGT . The dollar stores have risen out of the gap in mid may, while the larger stores are still in it.

I have also invested in $JACK recently, as the first ticker in my dividend portfolio. I eat here about twice a month because the meal I order is cheaper than any other place and has more food, lol. I just like this company but it also fits in with this posts theme of spending less during these times.
My $JACK trades
i like the food
I’m waiting to see what synergies are created by the Del Taco acquisition. Will we start seeing “Del Jack” co-branded locations soon and will it help same-store sales figures?

Stock Buys - Tuesday 5/3/22
My stock buys for today, doing some more DCA while the market is down. Mostly Dividend stocks with the odd growth stock thrown in.

$SMG- this is one of my 'picks and shovels' cannabis plays, unfortunately it's been taking a beating, DCA down
$SCHH - DCA down on this REIT ETF
$LTC - DCA down on this REIT
$JACK - DCA down
$OTLY - DCA down (way down) from IPO purchase

Going to keep an eye on my trackers see what pops up throughout the day.
+1 for $SMG. Been holding and adding since early 2017. Hawthorne's recent struggles are a little concerning but even $GRWG is struggling so it seems to be industry-wide, not Hawthorne specific.

Upcoming Earnings Calendar (Feb 21th - 25th)
Hey guys! Here's the upcoming earnings calendar! Several very interesting reports coming up. Here's what I'll be looking forward to.

  • $MELI - How much did inflation impact their logistics margins?
  • $SQ - Cash App Users and Revenue Growth
  • $COIN - I think they will deliver a monster quarter. Crypto volatility should incentivize trading, driving commissions revenue above forecast.
