$GOOGL meet will eventually become the primary video conference platform.
Because of ads on Zoom basic?
Unless Google Meet can improve x fold, I would prefer to use Zoom even with ad support. I and almost everyone I know prefer Zoom over meet or webex or others. Just the ads on Zoom basic may not be the catalyst for Google meet
Sure Google can fix a lot of stuff.
Most people I work with who use zoom, use the free version.
Of my 221 meetings so far this year (where people get a choice of whether to use Google or Zoom), 40% preferred Google, 54% Zoom, and the rest regular phone calls.
I think this ratio will change if we they have YouTube style ads.
I thought more about the ad impact. This will impact basic users only who are not adding to bottom line currently. The initial success becoming a verb was s already out there. Is there a comparison to YouTube where majority of the users are using ad supported version because the product/content is better. I know it’s not a direct comparison but something to understand user behavior
