In 2017 an anti-monopoly agency in Russia ruled that Google was taking advantage of its position on Android phones. In so doing, they said that Android and Apple phones need to offer users the choice of which search engine they wanted to use instead of defaulting to Google. Once that ruling came into effect you can see it in the search engine market share in Russia. The trend reverses and Yandex starts gaining back market share:
