I feel like the biggest value of this platform is for us as investors to come together and agree on stocks to buy. The hedgies only need one move, we need a million moves together. Lets start discussing, choosing, and sticking with stock picks as a group. Hell that's why I'm on here, the more people we can get to join in and go the same direction the further we all go!

Personally, I feel like the biggest value of the platform is getting different investors with different backgrounds together to learn from one another.

@tecantra (technical analysis) talking with @gkotak (Fincredible / earnings call tools) for example is a conversation we can all learn something from.

@emf and @investor_from_nepal talking with @rick_gurner about dividends.

@dylan522p talking with @chasinggreatness about semi-conductors.

@sidnistandard and @strib talking with @celineromero about wealth inequality.

@investmenttalk and @invesquotes talking deep dives.

The more smart minds you get in one place, collaborating closely, the higher quality the outcomes.

This is why I'm here - it's invaluable to hear other perspectives on things. It may be that I overlooked a merger, or there's some litigation I haven't heard about, and so on.

If during our conversations we all find a compelling bull/bear case on the same stock using our different skillsets then we'll inevitably take the same action anyway.

Agreed with @nathanworden that its biggest value is getting different perspective from investors in different background and phase of life. I also love hearing differing opinion on same data/information.

Some of the best conversations occur because the participants are good listeners. I count this as a humble brag @chasinggreatness 😆

I agree with Frank @mintmarca

@nickcundy is on the right track as far as discussing stocks together. But trying to move a stock price as a group... that's easily exploitable and technically illegal.

Upvoting this because I want to hear more discussion about what others on the platform want to do with the power of retail people coming together.

Discussions like this between @oilman69 @eric @strib and @parrot about commodity prices are also great. Immanently relevant.

I think this platform is more about individual portfolio performance than getting the gorillas together.

"sticking with stock picks as a group" -- I'd rather not. I like coming to my own conclusions. If other people come to the same conclusion as me, great. I might be susceptible to mimetic behavior, but as a rule I try to make sure my investment thesis isn't: "because everyone else is buying"

After hearing the comments and thinking more about this my opinion has definitely been swayed. The knowledge that's able to be gained is much more valuable. If you can't tell I'm a newbie to investing. Thanks for the discussion thus far!
