Reposting to keep this top of mind. Any strategy needs to be backtested and improved until it consistently delivers better performance than the market (S&P 500) for various time periods (e.g., 1, 3, and 10 years). Until then an investor should be putting their money into a low cost S&P 500 ETF while they continue to improve their strategy. And a strategy is only a strategy if it is written down in the form of rules (an algorithm).
