More than one year and a half since the pandemic started and $AAPL has not managed to find a way to authenticate with a mask on

Some phones allow fingerprint recognition using the screen which could’ve fitted perfectly on an iPhone

Just some thoughts

+1 to this one. I love $AAPL a lot, and one of the reasons is convenience; however, the lack of authentication w/ a mask is the exact opposite.

I don't know if/when they build around the mask issue, but given how important masks are in our lives now even post-vax for many of us, I think they will they need to incorporate a solution.

Yep and it's kind of annoying that you have to wait until Face ID gives an error to insert the passcode. Expected better from $AAPL

They rolled this out a while ago!

i've never been a fan of face id, but a global pandemic and mask-wearing wasn't exactly something they could be blamed for not including in their roadmap at least 2-3 years prior to the current models.

It's something that they should've taken a maximum of 6 months to roll out imo

easier said than done. six months would be like turning a container ship on a dime

So I heard this was supposed to work. I updated my iOS and everything but it doesn't work for me either. Could also be because I've used too much sanitizer on my phone. :)

Maybe you need to update iOS? I have been able to do this for the better part of a year.
