You could say they are 'willing to pay', but I think of it as more of:

"You have to spend your time somewhere... do you want to spend it just anywhere, or do you want to spend it with passionate people doing something that matters?"

Those that are "willing to pay" (by putting in the work, etc) will find they end up with so much more by being a part of these groups than they would otherwise.

@nathanworden agree, organizing members in a DAO enables turning time going with for the DAO into value. No more work for free!!
