Seeing some fantastic quarterly results for semiconductor plays, including equipment/testing, into what's historically, the strongest time of the year for semi book-to-bill & semi stock performance.

Ex: The average return of the $XSD outpaces $SPY in each of the next five months (Nov-Mar). Will this year play out differently? Doesn't seem like it so far:

Also, some 10-k's do a good job explaining specific aspects of the semi industry. It might be worth reading the 'business' section of a few of the big players 10-ks. Also, this is a short primer from Valueline that may be helpful https://www.valueline.com/Stocks/Industries/Industry_Overview__Semiconductor.aspx#.YYQaH2DML7I and this is a more in depth overview from STM: https://www.st.com/resource/en/application_note/cd00003986-introduction-to-semiconductor-technology-stmicroelectronics.pdf
