$AMZN vs $GOOG CEO compensation packages
In 2021, Andy Jassy took over as CEO of Amazon $AMZN while in 2019, Sundar Pichai transitioned as CEO of Alphabet $GOOG.
How their compensation packages compared on transition in terms of basic salary and stock awards? ⬇️
$AMZN Andy Jassy
Basic salary: $175K
Stock Awards: $212M in grant date fair value restricted stock units (RSUs) vesting over a 10-year period, with 80% vesting between 5 and 10 years after grant.

$GOOG Sundar Pichai

Basic salary: $2M

Stock Awards: $277M in grant date fair value stock awards including $121M in performance stock units (PSUs) vesting over a 2 and 3-year period, $125M RSUs vesting over a 3-year period and one time transitional stock award of $31M.

Conclusion: In our opinion, $AMZN compensation package upon the CEO transition seems to better align management with shareholders, nevertheless, both packages are solid and shareholder friendly.
