"The Market" Stock Pitching Game is Today! (9/9/21)
Every month right before our new game we do a check-in to see how past pitches at "The Market" game are performing. Congratulations to Gaurav Kotak @gkotak with the best performing pitch (so far) from last month's game!

Gaurav's pick of Vonage $VG is up 1% since the date he pitched it, which is even with the return of the S&P 500. But be sure to check out why he thinks it will outperform going forward. You can watch the replay of his pitch here.

The other pitches had great thesis' as well, and even though they're down over the last month- there's a case to be made that they're only becoming more attractive. You can check out each of the individual pitches here.

You can also join the group chat channel on Commonstock here.

Today's game at 5:30pm PST has a great lineup:

Pat Connolly @pat_connolly
Mya Parker @myaparker
Gabriel Kaplan @strategicinvestors
Gaurav Mishra @gmishra
Kiwi Investor
James Ahn

Update on the returns from the game in July:

David Hoffman still in the lead with $ETH.X going on a tear. Crypto night was good all around for all the competitors.

Update on the returns for the game in May:

Kiran's pick of Palantir $PLTR is killing it. This is another game where everyone did really well. I personally bought $MCO and $TRMB after hearing the pitches from Chris Seifel and Igli Laci.

One day I will join this Market Game. Thursday's are great for me, but time difference kills me haha

We might have to try a game during the day Pacific time... I think there might be enough people who could participate during lunch, and that would allow people in European timezones to attend as well.

Every time we've had games where people from different continents show up there are interesting conversations that occur.

Update on the returns for the game in April:

Similar to June's game, we have a pick that has separated itself from the crowd. Chris Seifel's been going deep on Kulicke and Soffa $KLIC, and I think it's safe to say the company still has tailwinds. It's worth going back and hearing Chris' pitch from April here:

And you can see the rest of the pitches here:

Not the best start for $RDFN, but I still think the long term outlook for the company is really bright.

Totally agree with this- and that's why I love tracking these over time and not just a single month. It's a good case study in how much companies can move up and down month to month. @pessen

Update on the returns from the game in March:

Timing was rough all around for this game. Currently two stocks are still in the green: Albert Kim's Lineage Cell Therapeutics and $LCTX and Alex Sharp's $SQ

Update on the returns from the game in February:

This was peak SPAC season, many of which fell apart. But still some great picks. Pat Connolly's $INMD keeps posting gains month after month. @amit's $NVDA has been doing great as well. Shoutout to @drrachelstocks who pitched $ZS and who I still think needs to come out and do another pitch!

Update on the returns from the game in January:

A good amount of SPAC and high growth picks that got away from people in this round as well. But Ryan's pick of Cloudflare and Will's pick of Facebook have done great. Takeaway: be careful about getting caught up with the hot thing of the moment... eight months later will it still be hot?

And finally, an update on the returns from the game in December 2020!

Tyler owned this game- he pitched twice and both pitches are the only ones that are still in positive territory: Microvision $MVIS and Microsoft $MSFT

Gotta say, I'm still a big fan of Twist Biosciences, Roku and Redfin. Still keeping an eye on the picks from this game.

@nathanworden not sure if I can share, would be a compliance question. But happy to if ok
Nathan Worden's avatar
@chasinggreatness ah yeah that makes sense. Forgot about compliance!

Forgot to comment, but my $SNAP pitch is still holding up in the positive! Those Q2 earnings in July definitely helped though:)
