Prediction: Nvidia will fall post-earnings
$NVDA is now trading at 29x sales and 182x earnings. Investors are pricing in enormous growth from AI but I think the earnings call next Wednesday (May 24th) will be a catalyst to remind the market how insanely fast Nvidia will have to grow to fulfill these expectations.
Obviously there could continue to be a melt up— I've seen crazier things. But for now I'm guessing Nvidia will trade at 7% less this time next week.
Has to right? The valuation has been stretched out so bad something has to give. Also with today’s news from JP and stalled debt ceiling talks could contribute to the drop.
@darthtrader My guess— it falls, but it takes a week or two after earnings and does so unexpectedly.
Great stock to buy when it falls. Nvidia notoriously goes through booms and busts in its stock price. We're in a boom. Time to unload.

With you on this one (and I am long $NVDA). Just think it’ll get revalued assuming no huge home runs in the earnings call on Wednesday.
@beaver_cap same, I’m hedging a bit, which I never do, but still remain long NVDA. But yeah, expecting a bit of a revaluation.
Would be crazy to see it jump higher on earnings, but maybe the AI hype cycle keeps going strong 🤷♂️
@nathanworden I trimmed a bit at $270 cause I thought it ran up high then haha but I’m happy to be patient to re-add those shares.

@beaver_cap so true! But I think you had the right idea, NVDA goes through booms and busts with its share price. You will likely be able to buy back well below $270. No clue on how long it takes to get there though haha
@nathanworden Haha exactly! And if I never get to buy those back it’s fine because I still own shares so will get to participate
I’m with you. 118% YTD was a fun ride, and I’m up 100% on my position. Sold 50% of it just now, willing to see what happens. Still exposed if positive and can buy back in on the negative if that’s the case.
@taylorsulik Congrats! It's a good problem to have. Right now NVDA is hovering at around $2 more than I sold it for, but I'm also willing to see what happens (and sell some more if it keeps going higher)

Have been trying to stop myself from calculating the gains I missed out on over the last 20 minutes! Not what i was anticipating at all
Months ago when this thing so much lower, I thought, I should really buy in. I then thought, man, I feel like I'm too tech focused. Should've just gone and done it.
