Grocers in the green
British supermarkets did well when pubs and restaurants shut during the pandemic. Folks ate and drank at home instead of going out. But the boom was shortlived, and top lines dropped as restrictions did.

They sell less but with increased prices earn more?

@rihardjarc Last year, they sold less than in 2020 but more than in 2019. Net income margins rose in 2021, according to CapIQ.

What a swing! Any business would be thrown for a loop needing to in increase supply that fast… and then having it drop off a cliff. That’s a tough business environment.
