Seems like an expensive solution, I believe it's a good investment in customer service though, things like this and the way they handle recalls could bring forth great customer loyalty in the future.
@nathanworden Yes. they seem to be able to handle just about any situation.. I feel like they will mostly be used for charging, but this would definitely make me feel more comfortable as a Rivian owner :)
@nathanworden I wish! 😂 I buy my cars on facebook marketplace and do some DIY to make them driveable :) If I had the money to get a brand new EV though i'd probably go with a R1S or Tesla model S. I like Tesla's but I don't think owning a company Elon is the CEO of would be very nice.. that's my opinion tho😅
Especially after the Cloudflare CEO’s thread about how bad the customer service experience was buying a Rivian, seems like low hanging fruit to improve, which will make a huge difference to customer loyalty.
@nathanworden Just found and read the whole thing haha, he updated it six days ago saying it hasn't been resolved. That's a sad story especially since he named it pikachu and everything 😭 I read the comments though and there seemed to be other customers saying the experience was quite pleasant, I wonder if his situation was just an outlier, but still needs to be addressed nonetheless. Thank you for telling me about this!
@seasnar sure thing! I mean, no matter what there are always some bad customer experiences. The question is like you said— is this a one off, or is there something structural with Rivian’s policies that will make a lot of customers have this experience.
I was almost wondering— did they have so few vehicles produced that issues like the customer service one weren’t looked into all that closely, because at the end of the day they didn’t have enough vehicles to deliver? (This is pure speculation)
@nathanworden Good question.. I suppose I should look into more reviews and see what others thought of their process.
I would hope that's not the reason for it! The way it all went down seems odd though, he configured the vehicle how he wanted it, then they sent him inventory to choose from instead after.. so according to them they have plenty of inventory to sell.. but I didn't think they had inventory like that.. I thought they were dealing with fulfilling orders, so the inventory must be cancelled orders?
There's so much recurring revenue that comes from adding more service vans and service workers. Rivian is doing a great job with ramping up production.
