Lithium the hottest space to be
$PMET.CN $AN.V $FL.V $BRW.V
- Lithium has now established its position as a key part of the energy industry’s future, and the race to secure supplies of this critical metal is heating up.
So many reasons to be a lithium bull:
I’m very bullish on it LT , but is there a calculation on break even by region, like there is for oil? Eg Saudi and Iraq are very low(<$30), US shale is below $70 appx etc?
What about E&P potential for lithium? Is it suddenly cost effective to extract massive amounts now at these prices?
coming from a commodity background, I know the cycles can be quick and intense, especially in a trending sector. I followed and bought $MP for a while but got scared out of it when the short reports hit..still following it though, but I felt that upsides are more calculable from companies I have more info on. 🤷🏾♂️
@passiveinvestor Great questions, and I truly wish I had great answers for you. I believe there are several factors that make it difficult to perform such a calculation. With emerging technology, various extraction methods, and brines/sedimentary/pegmatite/unconventional deposits, it seems as though rapid growth is leading to new developments extremely quickly and it's difficult to keep pace. I own both pegmatite ($PMET.CN, $FL.V & $BRW.V) and brine ($AN.V). The government of Argentina is incredibly supportive of brine development in the Lithium Triangle, and infrastructure and grants could help to reduce costs. Conversely, Eastern Canada is also eager to develop its spodumene resources, which in turn will support the growth of their auto manufacturing industry. So many pieces of a brand new puzzle, that I feel it's impossible to quantify at this juncture.
