Understanding the magnitude of Taylor Swift's Upcoming Film
Taylor Swift has shattered records in the music industry with her Eras Tour. She has now shattered records in Hollywood with her Eras Tour movie.

Spiderman - No Way Home, the first highly anticipated film that came to theaters after the pandemic, once held the highest single-day sales record at $16.9 million. Taylor Swift's Eras Tour movie broke that record at $26 million in less than three hours.

The ticket prices for the Eras Tour movie is only $19.89 (in honor of Taylor Swift's 1989 album). As Taylor Swift got to choose the price for the tickets, she was also able to negotiate with the movie theaters to prevent people from using their theater membership benefits to reserve the tickets as a way to ensure profitability for the movie.

While Hollywood has grind to a halt because of the writers/actors strike, Taylor Swift was able to film her movie despite the strike as she was able to meet the demands of the unions.

Hollywood distributors are mad that Taylor Swift chose to go to $AMC directly instead of them. Besides the studios choosing to not pay their writers and actors fairly, this move by Taylor Swift can be seen as karma to them for the stunts that they pulled during the beginning of the pandemic against the theaters.

Why is it that the Eras Tour was a wild success for the box office? If you think about it, the magnitude of people wanting to go to the Eras Tour is very big and most people that wanted to go couldn't get tickets. $LYV has done a terrible job with cracking down on ticket bots and scalpers. People got out of the pandemic wanting to have fun after years of being stuck indoors. For those people that couldn't afford or even secure a ticket in the first place, being able to experience the concert in theaters was a great alternative. The tickets are more affordable ($19.89 btw) and there are more seats and more opportunities to experience it. Even better is that you don't need to travel to a certain city or wait for Taylor to come to your city; you just go to your local theater, wherever you are in the US, and you get to experience it in person.

When we look at everything from a broader picture, the breakup between Taylor Swift and her talent manager Scooter Braun is what allowed her to gain ownership over her music career, her IP, her concerts, and even all the other content she makes. Without this, we wouldn't have all the amazing Vault soundtracks that have attracted us to her "Taylor's Version" albums and we wouldn't be seeing her songs from the pre-pandemic days break records.

The success of Taylor Swift is inspiring Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande, Demi Lovato, J Balvin and Idina Menzel to all stop working with Scooter Braun. I'm excited to see what all of these artists do when they gain ownership over their songs and careers. I'm optimistic that the new batch of people, who no longer work with Scooter Braun, will help make the music industry one of the fastest growing industries in the world. A new era of growth for the music industry is on the horizon.

After a brief moment of optimism, nobody has any idea when the Hollywood strikes will end.
