$GOOGL YouTube for instance has only 2800 employees and besides running the largest platform for video on the planet, it also runs a very successful Spotify competitor - YouTube Music.

YouTube also aims to become the music industry’s largest revenue contributor by 2025.

They probably over-hired. Most tech businesses did. Perhaps it's time to trim the fat?
