Wage inflation indeed "Compared to the 20 largest United States tech companies, Alphabet paid its people 153% more than what competing firms offered their employees"

This partly explains why smaller, less prominent tech companies have to offer so much SBC to entice joiners. Who would otherwise want to join money-losing, less branded SaaS companies, when one could take up handsome offers from famous Google.
