πŸ“ˆ Do your feelings about your investments follow the roller coaster ride of the market?
One way to reduce stress and appreciate the journey is by developing a 20+ year perspective.

Short-term declines have always been followed by recoveries and bull markets. Reviewing charts such as those at https://leveragedmomentum.com/history-and-perspective/ which show that the long-term direction of the stock market is up in spite of corrections, bear markets, recessions, and other transitory events is reassuring and helps establish appropriate expectations and confidence. Every day is a good day to pursue your goals and dreams but the time required can be minimized to allow you to live an abundant life! Any questions or feedback?

This is great and I wholeheartedly agree with your points about a 20 year (and beyond) time horizon. I think in especially painful market environments like we're seeing now it's helpful to slice it even a little thinner and focus on 3 to 5 years.

@tomato Thanks Joshua - I agree that 3-5 years is a good perspective with the exception of those rare periods when the market tanks for 3-5 years--hopefully this is not one of them!
