Value.

Think deeply if a company is providing a lot of value or not, and if they can keep providing the same, if not more over time.

Think deeply if the same company is already capturing some of that value, and if they can capture more of that value eventually.

Focus on both.

+1 This is a great fundamental question to be asking in investing. @eugeneng as you go through this thought experiment, does any of this get quantified in some way, or is it purely a qualitative thought experiment?
